 This in my pop-up book.

I really enjoyed making this pop-up book.  It was fun to create and pretty easy as well. I would love to use the zooburst site for my students who are looking into different colleges and careers.  I think it could be really neat to for students to create a pop-up book that would look at different colleges they might want to go to, or careers they may want to pursue. I also think students would enjoy making a pop-up book with pictures of their friends as a neat way to create a memory book of their senior and/or high school career.

Above is the link to my popplet.  I had never heard of popplet before so I decided to try it out.  I really enjoyed using it.  It is very self-explanatory for the most part.  I specifically liked that when you hovered over an icon it would let you know what that icon did or could be used for.  Several technologies I have used in the past have utilized this intuitive feature, so I felt very comfortable using popplet!

Activity 1

I think this video would be a great way to help motivate students. Many student struggle with gathering and/or maintaining motivation. This video could be on my site and also used during a lesson to help students increase their motivation.

• How could a blog be useful in your classroom or professional life?  If you're not sure of the potential benefits, do a Google search for something like "using blogs in the classroom".  

I think a blog could be very helpful in my classroom and professional life because it is another great way to communicate with parents and students.  Furthermore, this interface would be very helpful for students to utilize to connect not only with me, but with classroom materials and resources!

• After checking out some of the other blogging sites, which do you think would be the best option for you?

After looking at other blogging sites, I think blogger is the choice for me.  I really like the layout of this site and it makes sense to me.  I can really see myself using this technology since it is really easy for me to use and navigate.  I think that when a student has a chance to use this site they will pick up how to use it quickly and with little difficulties.

I am so excited to gain more knowledge and skills through the summer 2.0 camp! I have never worked in a blog before and have always wanted to see what this technology could offer me as a teacher. I hope to be able to use a blog in a way that will benefit my students and feel comfortable sharing this information with my colleges. I am typically very comfortable with technology, but since blogs are new I would rate myself at 6 out of 10 for my current comfort level with this technology. In my classroom currently, I have no tools that I can use since I do not have a SMART Board or Projector.  I hope to get a SMART Board or projector to use next school year so I can implement this new knowledge in the classroom.
